We are also about to pay deposit to start building the Bronte Lodge, just wondering whether you know if we need to have septic installed prior to them starting the build and if so how do you know where it needs to go before they have drawn up the house plans?
Hi, not 100% sure but i don't think you have to have it done but you do need to nominate where it will before the plumber to work towards. Even on our slope he was careful to make sure he had enough fall so be careful not to make it to high. It can be further away than ours if required but remember you also have power and feed back alarm wiring back to the house from the septic.
Awesome thanks for that……wow your area looks beautiful. what area are you building in, we will be building at Hannan Vale between Port Macquarie & Taree - (dairy country lots of lush green hills and lots of cows lol). We are currently living in a tiny rural village called Boomi which is 100km north of Moree. So it should make for an interesting build experience being only 8 hours away! HAHAHA But luckily for us we don't have any time constraints as far as the build goes. They can take as long as the like as we are living in Police Housing at the moment which is basically rent free. So the longer we are here the more money we can earn to put towards the house. Such as exciting process. I might even try to start a blog once it all gets started. Haven't received our consolidated tender as yet, so hopefully once that comes through we can book our colours appointment, I swear I think I know the colours folder word for word by now, the amount of time I have had my head stuck in it. I have joined the forum too so have been keeping up with the McDonald Jones thread on there too, I must say for a project home builder they have a pretty good reputation in general. Not too many complaints considering.
Funny thing i rode past Port and Taree on the bike this morning coming back from Brisbane. We are in Tallong about half way between Canberra and Sydney.
